Position Summary
Agiliant is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Network and Cloud Engineer to design, implement, support, and optimize complex IT environments for our managed services customers. This role serves as a technical leader across networking, security, cloud infrastructure, and customer projects while maintaining a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and solution delivery. This is a remote position however must be able to travel to customer’s site occasionally for project work.
The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Cisco and Meraki networking technologies while also functioning as a versatile infrastructure engineer capable of supporting Azure cloud environments, cybersecurity initiatives, server infrastructure, and end-user technologies.
Key Responsibilities
Network Design
Design and implement enterprise-grade wired and wireless network infrastructures.
Create network architecture diagrams, standards, and technical documentation.
Develop LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, VPN, and wireless solutions for SMB and mid-market customers.
Conduct wireless heat mapping, predictive Wi-Fi surveys, and post-deployment validation testing.
Design optimal wireless access point placement based on building blueprints and coverage requirements.
Develop network segmentation and security strategies utilizing VLANs, ACLs, and best practices.
Lead network refresh and modernization projects from assessment through implementation.
Operations and Support
Troubleshoot complex connectivity, routing, switching, and wireless performance issues.
Support Cisco, Meraki, and other enterprise networking technologies.
Manage and optimize site-to-site and remote access VPN technologies.
Perform root cause analysis and remediation of recurring network issues.
Monitor network performance and proactively recommend improvements.
Provide technical escalation support for Service Desk and Systems Engineering teams.
Physical Security and Infrastructure Design
Assist with security camera and access control placement, coverage analysis, and surveillance design on blueprints. Collaborate with Low Voltage to ensure proper installation and quality control.
Evaluate facility layouts and provide recommendations for secure infrastructure deployment.
Collaborate with customers, contractors, and vendors during office expansions and facility upgrades.
Assist with coordinating Circuit installations and upgrades.
Cloud and Security Support
Deploy, manage, and support Microsoft Azure environments.
Implement Azure security controls and governance best practices.
Support Entra ID, Intune, Conditional Access, MFA, and identity security initiatives.
Support customer cybersecurity initiatives and compliance requirements.
Skilled at leveraging AI, automation, and power shell.
Customer Engagement
Participate in project scoping, engineering reviews, and customer strategy discussions.
Develop technical recommendations aligned with customer business goals.
Assist Technical Account Managers with technology roadmaps.
Present technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Maintain strong customer relationships through professionalism and responsive communication.
Documentation and Standards
Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, and customer documentation.
Create standard operating procedures and implementation guides.
Document network standards, security requirements, and best practices.
Ensure knowledge transfer to operations and support teams.
Document responses for Questionnaires and audits.
Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise
7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
Previous experience supporting multiple customers and locations.
Advanced experience with Cisco and Meraki networking platforms.
Strong knowledge of routing, switching, TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and VPN technologies.
Extensive experience troubleshooting wireless and network performance issues.
Experience conducting wireless surveys and predictive wireless design.
Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
Experience with Azure infrastructure, networking, and security services.
Experience with firewalls including Cisco, Palo Alto, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with endpoint security, backup solutions, and disaster recovery technologies.
