Role Description The Rice Trader will manage day-to-day trading activities for rice, including sourcing, purchasing, and selling rice to wholesalers, retailers, and other buyers. This full-time, on-site role in Krishna involves monitoring market prices, evaluating quality and stock levels, negotiating with suppliers and customers, and maintaining accurate records of transactions and inventories. The Rice Trader will coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely deliveries and proper storage, while minimizing losses and managing risks. The role also includes building and maintaining strong relationships with farmers, millers, brokers, and other stakeholders, and preparing regular reports on market trends, margins, and performance. The Rice Trader will collaborate with management to develop trading strategies that align with business goals and local market conditions.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong knowledge of agricultural commodities, preferably rice, including quality grades, pricing, and local market dynamics.
Candidates should possess skills in negotiation, relationship management, and stakeholder communication with farmers, suppliers, and buyers.
Candidates should possess skills in basic finance, record-keeping, and data analysis to track margins, volumes, and inventory.
Candidates should possess organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple deals, deliveries, and documentation efficiently.
Candidates should possess the ability to work on-site in Krishna, conduct field visits, and adapt to changing market and seasonal conditions.
Candidates should possess proficiency in using basic computer tools (e.g., spreadsheets, email) for reporting and communication.
