The Opportunity
We’re looking for an organised and detail-focused Payroll Officer to join our team.
You’ll play an important role in ensuring our people are paid accurately and on time, while providing responsive support to employees and maintaining high standards of payroll compliance and confidentiality.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working with people, solving problems and taking ownership of a reliable payroll service.
Working days will include Mondays and Tuesdays, with total hours up to 2-3 days per week as negotiated with the successful candidate.

About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
Processing end-to-end fortnightly payroll for approximately 70 employees across 4 entities
Maintaining accurate employee payroll records
Processing timesheets, leave, allowances and other payroll adjustments
Managing superannuation and other statutory payroll requirements
Supporting payroll reporting, month-end and year-end activities
Responding to employee payroll queries promptly and professionally
Interpreting relevant awards, enterprise agreements and employment conditions
Working closely with People & Culture and Finance to resolve payroll matters
Maintaining accurate records and protecting sensitive employee information
Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes, controls and employee experience
About You
You’re someone who takes pride in getting the details right while never losing sight of the people behind the numbers.
Ideally, you’ll bring:

Previous experience in an end-to-end payroll position
Sound knowledge of Australian payroll practices and employment conditions, including Award interpretation
Experience working with Xero (preferred)
Strong Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data
Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet payroll deadlines
Clear, professional communication and a customer-focused approach
Good judgement when handling confidential and sensitive information
The ability to investigate discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution
