Role Description The Laboratory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at KMC Speciality Hospital in Tiruchirappalli. This role oversees daily operations of the clinical laboratory, including planning, coordinating, and supervising testing activities to ensure accurate and timely results. The Laboratory Manager manages laboratory staff scheduling and performance, ensures proper use and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and enforces safety, quality control, and regulatory compliance standards. The position includes monitoring inventory and procurement of reagents and supplies, collaborating with clinicians to support diagnostic decision-making, and maintaining clear documentation and reporting. The Laboratory Manager also supports research and development initiatives, leads process improvement projects, and provides training and mentorship to laboratory personnel.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong laboratory skills and hands-on experience with routine and specialized Laboratory Equipment.
Candidates should possess solid Quality Control expertise, including implementation and monitoring of quality assurance procedures.
Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting test results, troubleshooting issues, and validating methodologies.
Candidates should possess experience in Research and Development (R&D) and process improvement within clinical or diagnostic laboratory settings.
Relevant academic qualification in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Technology, or a related field; advanced certification or licensure as applicable is preferred.
Experience managing or supervising a clinical laboratory team, with knowledge of laboratory safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
Proficiency in laboratory information systems (LIS) and basic computer skills for documentation, reporting, and data analysis.
