Maclean bolter operators

Role Description This full-time remote role is responsible for operating MacLean bolter equipment to safely install ground support in underground mining environments. Day-to-day tasks include setting up, operating, and monitoring bolter machinery according to site plans and safety procedures, and ensuring correct installation of bolts, mesh, and other ground support materials. The role involves performing pre-operational inspections, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting of equipment, as well as accurately following work orders and documenting activities. Maclean bolter operators will collaborate with supervisors, mine engineers, and other crew members to coordinate work, maintain safe work areas, and support production targets. The position requires adherence to all company and regulatory safety standards, participation in safety meetings, and continuous improvement of operational practices.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience operating MacLean bolter or similar underground bolting equipment, with strong understanding of ground support installation techniques.
Knowledge of underground mining operations, mine safety regulations, and hazard recognition in confined and remote environments.
Ability to perform routine equipment inspections, basic mechanical troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on bolter machinery.
Competence in reading and interpreting mine plans, work instructions, and technical documentation, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate tasks with supervisors, engineers, and crew members across shifts.
Capacity to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing production priorities and conditions.
Physical ability to work in an underground setting, including standing, lifting, and working in varying temperatures and conditions, following all safety guidelines.
Relevant certifications in underground mining or heavy equipment operation; prior experience in gold mining or similar operations is an asset.
