Role Description The Certified Medical Coder role at Shree Krishna Insight Learning is a full-time position based in Mumbai with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site responsibilities with some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the medical coder reviews clinical documentation and assigns accurate ICD, CPT, and HCPCS codes to support proper billing, reimbursement, and reporting. Daily tasks include validating medical records for completeness, applying medical terminology and coding guidelines, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and payer requirements. The coder collaborates with healthcare professionals and internal teams to clarify documentation, resolve coding queries, and support audits and quality improvement initiatives. The position also involves maintaining up-to-date knowledge of coding standards, participating in training, and contributing to process improvements in health information management.
Qualifications
Coding Experience and Medical Coding skills, including familiarity with ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
Knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately interpret clinical documentation and assign appropriate codes.
Background in Health Information Management, with understanding of documentation standards, compliance, and data integrity.
Relevant certification such as RHIT or other recognized medical coding or health information credentials.
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work accurately with large volumes of clinical data.
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software; basic computer and MS Office skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff.
Ability to work independently, manage time effectively in a hybrid environment, and adapt to changes in coding guidelines and payer rules.
