Financial Analyst - Paid Internship

Portus Capital is hiring a Financial Analyst for a paid, one-year internship.
You will work with us across private markets, investment analysis, fundraising and strategic advisory.
The work will be varied. You might be analysing a company or private fund, building a financial model, researching a market, preparing an investment memo or helping us put together materials for an investor or international client.
We are a small team, so this is a hands-on role. You will be involved in real assignments and expected to contribute from the beginning.
What you will do
- Analyse companies, investment opportunities and private market funds
- Build financial models, valuations and return scenarios
- Research sectors, markets, competitors and transactions
- Support investment due diligence and fund selection
- Prepare investment memos, presentations and client materials
- Help manage investor and opportunity pipelines
- Support fundraising, business development and market-entry assignments
- Turn incomplete information into clear analysis and useful recommendations
Who we are looking for
Someone finishing university or recently graduated in Finance, Economics, Management, Engineering or a related field.
You should be analytical, comfortable with Excel, able to research properly and write clearly in English.
More importantly, you should be curious, reliable and able to work independently. We want someone who asks good questions, understands what actually matters and takes ownership of the work.
Portuguese is useful but not required.
Previous experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, transaction services or corporate finance is welcome, but not essential. We care more about how you think and the quality of what you deliver.
