Role Description The Google Cloud Engineer Intern role is a remote internship focused on supporting cloud solution design, implementation, and maintenance on Google Cloud Platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with provisioning and configuring cloud infrastructure, monitoring performance, and helping troubleshoot technical issues under the guidance of senior engineers. The intern collaborates with team members to develop and test software components, manage Linux-based systems, and work with databases used in cloud solutions. The role also involves documenting configurations, following best practices for security and reliability, and learning Tata Communications’ standards and processes for enterprise cloud deployments.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Software Development, including coding in at least one programming language and working with version control systems.
Understanding of Infrastructure concepts such as networking basics, virtualization, and system administration.
Knowledge of Cloud Computing fundamentals, preferably with exposure to Google Cloud Platform services and tools.
Experience or coursework with Linux operating systems, including basic command-line operations and shell scripting.
Familiarity with Databases, including relational database concepts, SQL, and basic data modeling.
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly and follow technical documentation.
Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate in remote, cross-functional teams.
Interest in cloud engineering, large-scale infrastructure, and building secure, reliable systems for global enterprises.
