Role Description The Assistant Manager role at Lactalis India is a full-time, on-site position based in Kanpur. This role supports daily plant and operations management, including coordinating production activities, monitoring quality standards, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory requirements. The Assistant Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams such as procurement, logistics, quality, and finance to optimize processes, control costs, and maintain timely product delivery. Responsibilities include data analysis and reporting, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, supervising assigned team members, and helping resolve operational issues to maintain smooth workflows. The role also involves contributing to local strategy implementation, supporting audits, and fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and performance excellence.
Qualifications
Operational and process management skills, including experience with production planning, workflow optimization, and basic project coordination.
Quality, safety, and compliance orientation, with familiarity in quality control practices, food safety standards, and regulatory guidelines in manufacturing or dairy/FMCG environments.
Analytical and reporting abilities, including proficiency in data analysis, use of spreadsheets or ERP tools, and preparation of clear operational reports and dashboards.
People and communication skills, including team supervision or mentoring experience, strong interpersonal communication, and the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
Educational background such as a bachelor’s degree in engineering, dairy technology, food science, business, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certification is an advantage.
Prior experience in dairy, food processing, or FMCG manufacturing operations is highly beneficial, especially in plant or supply chain settings.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
