Role Description The Senior Accounting Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Toronto, ON. This position oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including managing the month-end and year-end close processes, preparing and reviewing financial statements, and maintaining accurate general ledger records. The role includes supervising journal entries, monitoring fixed assets, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and applicable accounting standards. The Senior Accounting Manager will analyze financial data, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide insights to management to guide business decisions. This role also involves collaborating with operations and leadership teams, coordinating with external auditors, and continuously improving accounting processes and systems.
Qualifications
Strong financial reporting capabilities, including experience with Financial Statements and Finance-related analysis.
Proficiency in core accounting operations, including Journal Entries (Accounting) and managing Fixed Assets.
Demonstrated Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data, identifying trends, and supporting strategic decisions.
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and familiarity with accounting software and ERP systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional designation (CPA or equivalent) is preferred.
Several years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including prior leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams on-site.
