Senior Director of International Products
I. Position Overview
The Senior Director of International Products is responsible for the planning, development, and continuous optimization of the company's global product ecosystem. They formulate international product strategies and roadmaps tailored to customer needs, market environments, and business objectives across various countries and regions.
This role requires bridging the gap between marketing, business, technology, operations, compliance, sales, and senior management. The incumbent drives the full product lifecycle—from market demand analysis, strategic planning, and design to launch and operations—while coordinating regional teams to ensure consistency across the global product ecosystem alongside necessary local adaptations.
The core objective is to enhance customer experience, product competitiveness, and business growth capabilities across diverse markets through product innovation and effective international product management.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. International Product Strategy
Formulate global product strategies and medium-to-long-term product development plans.
Determine product positioning and deployment based on market demands in different countries and regions.
Analyze international markets, competitors, and customer needs to identify new product opportunities.
Establish global product roadmaps and determine product priorities.
Drive the standardization and localization of core products across different markets.
Continuously adjust the product portfolio and resource allocation in alignment with the company's overall strategy.
2. Product Management and Innovation
Manage the full lifecycle of core international products, covering both "0-to-1" (new product creation) and "1-to-N" (scaling and expansion) phases.
Oversee product requirement analysis, user research, design, testing, launch, and iteration.
Establish mechanisms for product requirement management and priority assessment.
Drive innovation in new products, features, and business models.
Continuously optimize products based on user data, market feedback, and business metrics.
Establish a system of key product performance indicators and continuously track product performance.
3. Global Market Localization
Research customer behaviors, business practices, and market characteristics in different countries and regions.
Drive product localization regarding payments, language, currency, user experience, and business processes.
Collaborate with regional business teams to define product requirements for local markets.
Balance a unified global product architecture with the differentiated needs of regional markets.
Establish mechanisms for the replication and rapid rollout of products in international markets.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
Collaborate with technical teams to formulate product implementation plans and development schedules. Collaborate with operations teams to formulate product promotion and user growth strategies.
Analyze customer needs and market feedback in partnership with sales and business development teams.
Assess compliance requirements for international products alongside compliance, legal, and risk management teams.
Report product strategy, progress, and key business metrics to senior management.
Coordinate across multiple countries, regions, and cross-functional teams to drive large-scale product initiatives.
5. Team Management
Build and develop international product management teams and talent pipelines.
Manage Product Managers, Senior Product Managers, and regional product teams.
Establish mechanisms for performance management, goal setting, and project management for product managers.
Cultivate the team's capabilities in international market analysis, product design, and business acumen.
Drive the adoption of unified methodologies and workflows across global product teams.
6. Data and Business Results
Establish a framework for core product KPIs and business metrics.
Evaluate product performance based on metrics such as user growth, engagement, revenue, conversion rates, and retention.
Identify growth opportunities and potential issues through data analysis.
Align product optimization efforts with company goals for revenue, customer growth, and market expansion.
Regularly submit global product business analyses and strategic recommendations to management.
III. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher; majors in Product Management, Business Management, Computer Science, Finance, Economics, or related fields are preferred.
18+ years of product management experience, including experience at large enterprises or multinational companies.
8+ years of experience in senior product management or product team leadership.
Experience in global product strategy, cross-regional product management, and product commercialization.
Familiarity with the full product lifecycle management process.
Strong capabilities in market analysis, user research, product planning, and business analysis.
Ability to coordinate across multiple departments, including technology, operations, sales, marketing, and compliance.
Strong English communication and business presentation skills.
Ability to adapt to cross-time-zone, cross-cultural, and remote team collaboration.
Strong strategic thinking, execution capabilities, and project management skills.
