Sr. Scientist

I’m supporting a confidential search for a Senior Scientist / Field Application Scientist – Viral Vectors with a focus on AAV and adenovirus vector design, engineering, and customer-facing scientific support.
This is an excellent opportunity for a PhD-level scientist who enjoys combining hands-on viral vector expertise, scientific problem-solving, and customer engagement.
Key responsibilities:
• Provide technical expertise in AAV and adenovirus vector design and engineering
• Advise on serotypes, promoters, vector architecture, cloning strategies, and experimental design
• Support customers from initial scientific inquiry through project execution and post-project troubleshooting
• Develop preliminary plasmid maps and advise on dosing, administration, controls, and experimental considerations
• Partner closely with Commercial, Business Development, and Operations to scope technically sound projects and ensure successful project transfer
• Serve as a technical resource for complex customer projects and scientific presentations
• Represent the organization at conferences, seminars, and customer meetings
• Contribute scientific insight into emerging viral vector technologies, products, and applications
Ideal background:
• PhD in Molecular Biology, Virology, Genetics, Gene Therapy, or a related field
• Strong hands-on experience with AAV vector design and engineering
• Experience with adenoviral vectors is a plus
• Strong knowledge of molecular cloning, expression cassette design, viral vector production, and gene delivery
• Excellent scientific communication and presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate research objectives into practical project designs
• Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
