2. About the Opportunity:
The Patient Assistance Program / Financial Advocacy Coordinator plays a vital role in helping patients and their families obtain financial support for pharmacy co-pays. This position ensures patients can access assistance programs through nonprofit organizations and manufacturers, guiding them through application processes and providing clear explanations about insurance benefits. The role directly impacts patient access to life-saving medications by reducing financial barriers.
3. Responsibilities:
Assist patients and families in securing financial assistance for pharmacy co-pays
Maintain knowledge of health insurance, pharmacy benefits, cancer diagnoses, and treatments
Support applications for nonprofit and manufacturer assistance programs
Explain insurance benefits and co-pay structures clearly to patients
Accurately maintain patient demographic and insurance information in CPR+
Collaborate with pharmacy operations and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth service delivery
4. Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 1 year of patient assistance or advocacy experience
Registration with Board of Pharmacy as required by state law
Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills
Preferred:
Associate degree or Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB)
3+ years of patient assistance or advocacy experience
Experience in specialty pharmacy
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary starting at $22.00 per hour and up
