About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join GrabJobs' technology team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and operational excellence of our platform. Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing reliability standards, automating operational workflows, and enhancing observability across our systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and support to proactively identify systemic risks and develop solutions that improve system resilience. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence how reliability is integrated into our platform's architecture and to build scalable, fault-tolerant systems that support our rapid growth and innovation initiatives.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or Production Engineering. A strong background in Linux systems and networking is essential, along with experience managing containerized production environments. Candidates should have a deep understanding of distributed systems, failure modes, and managing SLIs/SLOs. Proven incident response leadership, excellent scripting or programming skills (Python, Go, Bash), and experience with monitoring and alerting systems are required. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are also critical. Preferred qualifications include experience with GPU infrastructure, AI/ML platforms, infrastructure as code, and working in high-growth or startup environments.
Responsibilities
Define and implement SLIs/SLOs for critical services to measure and improve system reliability.
Lead incident response efforts, coordinate cross-team mitigation, and conduct blameless postmortems to ensure continuous improvement.
Perform production readiness reviews for new services and features, ensuring they meet reliability standards prior to deployment.
Identify systemic risks within the platform and drive preventative measures to mitigate potential failures.
Design, develop, and enhance monitoring, alerting, and dashboard systems (using tools such as Prometheus and Grafana) to improve visibility and responsiveness.
Reduce operational toil by automating recurring workflows, building internal tooling, and improving deployment safety through automation and guardrails.
Partner with engineering teams to improve system resilience, scalability, and fault tolerance, providing guidance on best practices and architectural improvements.
Contribute to architectural discussions with a reliability-first mindset, influencing the design of scalable and resilient systems.
