Enumerator Coach
As an Enumerator Coach with the National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA), you will play an important role in supporting agricultural producers and the communities they serve. You will help ensure that data collected through agricultural surveys is reliable, accurate, and objective-information that farmers, ranchers, rural communities, and decision-makers depend on.
In this role, you will provide leadership, coaching, quality control, technical assistance, and ongoing training to a team of Enumerators throughout the data-collection process.

About The Position
The Enumerator Coach reports to an assigned NASDA Manager and provides leadership, guidance, and support to a team of up to 20 Enumerators.
The Coach serves as a primary resource for Enumerators throughout the data-collection process and helps ensure surveys are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with program requirements.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Review completed survey forms, questionnaires, and related materials for accuracy and completeness.
Monitor, coach, and provide ongoing training and support to Enumerators throughout the data-collection process.
Answer technical and procedural questions and assist Enumerators in resolving issues encountered in the field.
Communicate regularly with the NASDA Enumerator Manager and assigned Enumerators to support successful and efficient data collection.
Complete surveys as needed while effectively balancing individual workload and team responsibilities.
Prepare and deliver quarterly training presentations to groups of 40 or more Enumerators.
Support quality-control initiatives and help maintain high standards for data accuracy and completeness.
Provide guidance and mentorship to Enumerators to help ensure compliance with program procedures and expectations.
Reinforce confidentiality, data-security, and proper information-handling requirements with Enumerators.
Enumerator Responsibilities
As part of the position, you may also be responsible for:
Conducting professional interviews with agricultural producers by telephone and in person.
Collecting accurate information about farming operations, crops, livestock, and agricultural practices.
Conducting crop counts and observing crop conditions in designated corn and soybean fields.
Using a company-provided electronic device to accurately and promptly enter collected information.
Maintaining daily records of work completed, hours worked, and mileage.
Communicating professionally with people from a variety of backgrounds and agricultural operations.
Following all NASDA policies and procedures related to data security, confidentiality, privacy, and the proper handling of collected information.
Qualifications & Requirements
Successful candidates will demonstrate strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma plus one year of college or relevant work experience.
Previous experience in data collection.
Exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgment and resolve issues independently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong presentation and training skills.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
Availability to work approximately 20–30 hours per week. Occasional weekend hours may be required.
Reliable transportation and the ability to travel intermittently throughout the year.
Ability to walk unassisted for up to 100 yards.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Availability to attend quarterly in-person training, which may require travel of up to 350 miles.
Ability to prepare and present training sessions for groups of 40 or more Enumerators.
A private home-office workspace suitable for completing job responsibilities.
Ability to operate and navigate an iPad, use email, and learn new technology and job-related processes.
Ability to conduct professional interviews with agricultural producers by telephone and in person.
Preferred Qualifications
Agricultural knowledge or experience.
Sales or customer-service experience.
Previous experience coaching, training, supervising, or mentoring others.
Experience working with agricultural producers or in a rural community.
Residence in southern Minnesota, anywhere between the Minneapolis–Saint Paul metropolitan area and the Iowa border.
Work Schedule
This is a part-time, remote position requiring an average of 20–30 hours per week. Some weekend work and intermittent travel may be required.
