Role Description The Controller is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing financial reporting, general ledger management, and compliance with accounting standards and firm policies. This position manages month-end and year-end close processes, prepares and reviews financial statements, and monitors budgets, forecasts, and cash flow. The Controller collaborates with internal stakeholders to provide financial analysis, supports audit and tax activities, and helps maintain internal controls and process improvements. The role includes supervising or mentoring accounting team members, coordinating with outsourced or shared services, and leveraging technology and firm tools to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient financial operations.
Qualifications
Strong skills in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end/year-end close processes.
Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Experience with internal controls, compliance, and adherence to U.S. GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with ERP or accounting systems; experience with cloud-based financial tools is beneficial.
Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and non-financial stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
Prior experience in a Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting role, ideally within professional services or a multi-entity environment.
