Director of Project Management

Role Description The Director of Project Management is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading and overseeing multiple civil engineering and consulting projects from initiation through completion. This position manages cross-functional project teams, sets priorities, and ensures schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met. Daily responsibilities include developing project plans, tracking milestones, managing risks, and coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and internal technical teams. The director will establish and refine project management processes, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement across the portfolio. This role also includes mentoring project managers, supporting business development efforts, and aligning project delivery with company strategy and client expectations.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in Project Management, including planning, execution, and delivery of complex, multi-phase civil engineering or consulting projects.
Strong Program Management skills to oversee a portfolio of projects, balance resources, and align initiatives with organizational objectives.
Proficiency in Budgeting and financial management, including cost estimation, forecasting, and monitoring to ensure projects remain on track financially.
Proven Team Leadership capabilities, with experience guiding multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration, and developing talent.
Experience in Process Improvement, including implementing standardized workflows, optimizing tools, and driving efficiencies in project delivery.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, business, or a related field; advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Comfort with remote work, including effective use of project management and collaboration software and the ability to work across distributed teams.
Background in civil engineering consulting, infrastructure, or related industries is highly beneficial.
