Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Environmental Engineer role based in Cuddalore. The Environmental Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing environmental systems and processes aligned with regulatory standards and institutional goals. Day-to-day tasks include conducting environmental assessments, overseeing wastewater treatment and waste management operations, monitoring environmental performance, and preparing technical reports and documentation. The role involves collaborating with academic teams, local authorities, and external partners to ensure environmental compliance, support community projects, and provide technical input on sustainability initiatives. The Environmental Engineer will also assist in developing guidelines, training materials, and recommendations to improve environmental practices across university facilities and associated projects.
Qualifications
Ability to manage Environmental Compliance and Environmental Impact Assessment activities, including regulatory reviews, audits, and reporting.
Strong knowledge of Wastewater Treatment processes, system design, and performance monitoring for institutional or industrial settings.
Experience in Environmental Consulting, including data analysis, stakeholder communication, and preparation of technical recommendations.
Skills in Waste Management planning and execution, including solid waste handling, resource recovery, and pollution prevention strategies.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Environmental Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
Familiarity with national and state environmental regulations, standards, and permitting processes.
Proficiency in environmental modeling or analysis tools and basic data management software.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with attention to safety and ethical practices.
Prior experience in academic, government, or industrial environmental projects in India is an advantage.
