Vice President of Business Development
💼 Responsibilities
Lead the company’s business development strategy to drive sustainable revenue growth, market expansion, and long-term business opportunities.
Identify, evaluate, and develop new markets, strategic partnerships, clients, channels, and revenue opportunities.
Build and maintain relationships with key clients, strategic partners, investors, and other senior stakeholders.
Develop and execute business development plans aligned with the company’s overall corporate strategy and growth objectives.
Lead complex negotiations, partnership agreements, commercial arrangements, and strategic business transactions.
Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, market opportunities, and potential risks.
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to convert business opportunities into measurable results.
Develop and manage a qualified business development pipeline, including opportunity assessment, forecasting, prioritization, and conversion.
Establish business development KPIs and performance metrics, and regularly report progress, pipeline activity, revenue opportunities, and market performance to senior leadership.
Evaluate potential strategic alliances, joint ventures, acquisitions, and other growth initiatives in support of the company’s expansion strategy.
Lead, mentor, and develop business development teams while establishing a culture focused on accountability, relationship management, and revenue growth.
Represent the company at industry events, executive meetings, conferences, and strategic partner engagements.
🎓 Experience Requirements
15+ years of progressive experience in business development, corporate development, sales leadership, strategic partnerships, or a related field.
8+ years of senior-level business development or commercial leadership experience, preferably within a complex or multinational organization.
Proven track record of developing new markets, strategic partnerships, major client relationships, and significant revenue opportunities.
Extensive experience in complex negotiations, contract development, partnership structures, and strategic commercial transactions.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business growth strategies across multiple markets or business segments.
Strong experience working directly with C-suite executives, senior stakeholders, strategic partners, and major clients.
Proven experience leading, mentoring, and developing high-performing business development teams.
Strong strategic thinking, market analysis, negotiation, relationship management, and executive communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, or a related field required; MBA or relevant advanced qualification preferred.
