About Scooter Your Way
Scooter Your Way is redefining local mobility through flexible, reliable, and modern scooter‑transport solutions. As we expand our fleet, strengthen our platform, and prepare for regional rollouts, we are entering a capital formation phase focused on non‑dilutive financing, angel investment, venture capital, and strategic family office partnerships.
The V.P of Investor Relations & Capital Formation COO, CEO, and Founder to secure the capital required to scale our fleet, accelerate market penetration, and strengthen our mobility infrastructure.
Role Overview
The Director of Investor Relations & Capital Formation owns the fundraising engine end‑to‑end. You will source investor relationships, manage our capital pipeline, refine our narrative, maintain our data room, and drive term‑sheet execution. This role requires an autonomous, high-octane self-starter who thrives on closing wins, maintains absolute transparency with executive leadership, and takes total ownership of outcomes without requiring micromanagement.
Key Responsibilities
Investor Pipeline Development: Build, qualify, and manage a pipeline of VC firms, family offices, angels, and mobility‑focused syndicates. Leverage your existing network to secure warm introductions and priority pitch meetings. Maintain a structured CRM tracking investor interactions, feedback, diligence status, and follow‑up timelines.
Proactive Executive Alignment: Maintain total transparency across external communications. Mandatory inclusion: Always CC the Founder, CEO, and COO on all external investor communications, pitch scheduling, and deal updates. Executive leadership should never have to hound or follow up to see active pipeline movement.
Narrative, Pitch & Data Room Management: Collaborate with leadership to refine pitch decks, financial models, and growth strategy. Build and maintain a secure digital Data Room containing financials, fleet metrics, CAC/LTV, market analysis, and cap‑table documentation. Convert operational milestones into compelling investor updates.
Deal Execution & Due Diligence: Screen prospective investors for thesis alignment, check size, and strategic fit. Coordinate end‑to‑end due diligence, ensuring rapid turnaround on financial, legal, and operational requests. Support leadership in evaluating term sheets, valuation expectations, and blended capital structures (equity + asset financing).
Ongoing Investor Relations & Reporting: Draft monthly and quarterly investor updates highlighting KPIs, fleet growth, and expansion wins. Maintain long‑term relationships with current investors to secure follow‑on capital. Ensure transparent communication around capital needs, deployment strategy, and scaling timelines.
Key Qualifications & Capabilities
Extreme Accountability & Radical Transparency (Non-Negotiable): You possess a high-ownership mindset. Leadership does not micromanage, hound, or pull teeth for progress updates. You proactively keep leadership in the loop by CCing the Founder, CEO, and COO on all external investor correspondence.
Passionate Deal Closer: Driven by an aggressive, energetic passion for modern mobility. You get excited by the process of closing investor meetings, securing commitments, and celebrating capital wins.
Fundraising Track Record: Experience leading or supporting capital raises of $1M–$10M+ across Seed, Series A, or strategic rounds.
Investor Network: Active, warm relationships with angels, family offices, mobility/hardware/consumer tech VCs, or syndicate leads.
Mobility & Startup Acumen: Strong understanding of SAFEs, convertible notes, cap tables, CAC/LTV, fleet utilization, and payback economics.
Exceptional Storytelling: Ability to articulate Scooter Your Way’s market opportunity with clarity, urgency, and precision.
Experience: 4+ years in Investor Relations, VC, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or founder‑led fundraising.
Compensation & Incentive Structure
Understanding Equity & Sweat Equity
Equity represents partial ownership in Scooter Your Way. As the company grows, increases in valuation, or reaches a liquidity event, the value of your shares increases accordingly.
Sweat Equity means investing your time, expertise, network, and effort in exchange for ownership rather than immediate cash compensation — building long‑term wealth tied directly to company value.
Phase 1: Performance Sweat‑Equity & Capital Raise Incentives (Initial Engagement - Non-Negotiable)
No cash base salary during Phase 1.
Success-Based Funding Commission & Equity: Earn a dedicated Success Fee plus 3% Equity allocated on every secured funding round brought in and closed for Scooter Your Way.
Equity allocation vesting begins immediately upon onboarding based on clear capital milestones and deal closures.
Weekly accountability syncs and live CRM access ensure executive visibility.
Phase 2: Post‑Funding Executive Compensation (Upon Capital Close - Subject to Final Board Approval)
Base Salary: Competitive, market‑aligned executive salary unlocked upon successful closing of designated capital rounds.
Success Fee & 3% Equity Grant: Continued 3% equity participation and success bonuses on all subsequent secured capital structures.
Perks: Remote flexibility, direct board-level collaboration with founding leadership, and a pivotal role in nationwide scaling.
Phase 3: Post-Revenue & Sustainable Scale (Upon Hitting Operational Cash Flow & Revenue Targets)
Salary Escalation: Executive base compensation scales to full competitive enterprise rates as recurring revenue benchmarks are met.
Revenue Performance Bonuses: Annual and quarterly cash incentives tied directly to top-line revenue growth, gross margins, and profitability KPIs.
Long-Term Equity Refreshers: Valuation-based performance equity grants and profit-sharing pools designed for executive retention and alignment.
