Finance Manager, FP&A

Location: Philippines
Working Hours: Permanent night shift – 12:00am to 9:00am Manila time
The Divisional Finance organization at Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE) provides business support and partnership across finance related matters. The team ensures strong financial discipline, high-quality analysis and clear insights are in place to support decision making across each division and SPE in achieving its goals and objectives.
The opportunity
We are looking for a well-rounded finance professional with a strong foundation in both FP&A and accounting, and greater depth in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and business partnering.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, you will support financial planning, investment analysis, and strategic decision making across corporate operations, including facilities and related capital initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you will have hands-on experience and a strong track record in financial reporting and analysis, scalable financial modelling, process improvement, and partnership with senior operational and finance leaders. You will also demonstrate excellent critical thinking, analytical, collaboration, presentation, & communication skills.
What you’ll do
Build scalable financial models, consolidation tools and templates that enable departmental and consolidated P&L reporting and deeper financial analyses to influence executive decision making
Support the development of global P&L annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly results analysis at departmental and divisional levels, including operating and capital expenditure
Develop the annual rent allocation budget for SPE’s owned and leased properties. Own the monthly chargeback process and related adjustments or requests for detailed analysis
Analyse monthly results, explain actual-to-forecast and actual-to-budget variances, and prepare narratives on the key business drivers
Prepare report packages with supporting details for department leads, executives, and corporate submissions
Provide financial analysis to business and finance leaders to enable timely decision making, including cost-benefit analysis, scenario modelling what-if analysis
Assess and optimize key processes across financial planning, management reporting, consolidation, capital project governance, and results analysis, with a focus on controls, automation and scalability
What you need
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline
At least 4 years relevant experience in real estate, entertainment, or technology companies, with at least 2 years in a managerial role
Experience leading annual budgeting, forecasting, and month-end financial analysis processes
Demonstrated experience in building scalable financial models, templates and consolidation solutions for departmental and enterprise-level reporting
Experience working with large and complex datasets, including validating, consolidating and translating data into clear financial insights
Experience partnering with business leaders to support planning, forecasting, and strategic decision making
Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles and how they translate into planning, forecasting and business decision making
Advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint, including complex formulas, data validation, pivot tables and clear presentation of financial insights
Good understanding of income statements, balance sheet and cash flow statements, and how they connect
Good understanding of IFRS
Experience with enterprise planning systems, such as SAP or Hyperion, and business intelligence tools, such as SAP BW, Power BI, Tableau or Essbase
A proactive self-starter who can work independently, manage competing priorities and communicate effectively with stakeholders across different locations and time zones
Ability to communicate financial concepts across all levels of the organization
Skilled in data visualization and the creation of clear, impactful presentations & deliverables
Experience presenting financial analyses and recommendations to management
Attention to detail and accuracy
Preferred qualifications and experience
Familiarity with using AI and automation to improve financial processes, controls and reporting efficiency
Experience or familiarity with real estate finance
Experience consolidating data across multiple departments, entities or cost centres
Experience or familiarity with project management concepts and tools
Experience leading process optimization and change initiatives
Working hours
This role requires working a permanent night shift to support U.S. business hours (12am to 9am Manila time). Candidates must be comfortable and able to work this schedule on an ongoing basis.
