Vice President of Technology | PE-Backed Route-Based Services Platform
The Talent Source is thrilled to lead the search for a Vice President of Technology for a newly independent, private equity-backed route-based services business entering its next phase of growth.
This is a unique opportunity for a technology leader who wants to build, not simply inherit.
Following a corporate carve-out, the VP of Technology will have the opportunity to establish the technology organization and operating model, build the appropriate internal capabilities, and strategically leverage partners to create a secure, scalable technology foundation.
Just as importantly, this leader will partner with the executive team to define how technology, digital, data and AI can transform the operating model and customer experience of a geographically distributed, route-based services organization.
The Opportunity
The VP of Technology will own a broad transformation agenda, including:
Building the standalone technology organization, operating model and roadmap
Digitally enabling field operations, including scheduling, dispatch, route optimization and technician productivity
Leveraging field technology and digital tools to transform the customer experience, providing customers with greater visibility into the work performed, service outcomes and value delivered
Advancing CRM, field service and enterprise application capabilities
Building a trusted data and analytics foundation to improve operational and commercial decision-making
Identifying practical applications of AI that can drive productivity, customer experience, pricing, sales and operating performance
Creating a scalable technology platform capable of supporting continued organic growth and future acquisitions
The Leader we are Looking For
We are particularly interested in technology leaders who have successfully digitally enabled a route-based, field services or highly distributed services organization.
Relevant backgrounds may include home and trade services, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pest control, landscaping, environmental services, facilities services, commercial maintenance, waste/recycling, equipment services or other recurring field-service models.
The successful candidate will bring a combination of:
Proven technology and digital transformation leadership within a distributed services environment
Experience improving field operations and customer experience through technology
A track record of building or materially transforming a technology organization
Strong data, analytics and emerging AI fluency
Commercial orientation, with the ability to connect technology investment to productivity, growth, margin and enterprise value
The ability to move comfortably between the executive team and Board and the operational realities of employees working in the field
Experience in a PE-backed, carve-out or acquisitive environment is highly desirable
Location & Compensation
The role offers some geographic flexibility. Southeast U.S. locations are preferred to facilitate regular collaboration with the leadership team, with consideration also given to candidates based in major markets with strong travel connectivity, including Dallas, North Carolina and Philadelphia.
This opportunity offers an attractive compensation package including base, bonus and LTI participation. This is an opportunity to create the technology capability, shape the digital agenda and directly influence the value-creation journey of a growing services platform.
