About the Opportunity:
The PATIENT ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST role is designed to directly impact patient health by proactively engaging individuals through multiple communication channels. This position is responsible for motivating patients to participate in healthcare programs and follow recommended care, thereby supporting the organization’s goals of improved patient experience and health outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Contact patients and members via phone, text, chat, email, and digital channels to promote healthcare programs and recommended care.
Establish rapport quickly and use empathy and influence to motivate patient action.
Educate patients on preventive services, screenings, medication adherence, and health improvement opportunities.
Assist patients in navigating healthcare services, including appointment scheduling and resource connections.
Manage both outbound and inbound communications, adapting style to suit the patient and channel.
Utilize technology to document and manage patient interactions accurately.
Collaborate with other teams to address patient needs and enhance the patient experience.
Work towards individual and team goals related to outreach, engagement, quality, and outcomes.
Requirements:
Experience communicating proactively with customers or patients via multiple channels including phone, text, chat, and email.
Ability to initiate outbound conversations, build trust, and maintain engagement across channels.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with adaptability to different audiences and communication modes.
At least 1 year of experience in healthcare, customer service, contact center, patient/member services, health insurance, pharmacy, medical office, or related field.
Familiarity with healthcare terminology and patient navigation of benefits, providers, prescriptions, appointments, or preventive care.
Proficiency in using multiple technologies, systems, and digital communication tools.
Capability to meet measurable goals, incorporate feedback, and adjust to changing processes.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
The base pay range for this role is between $20 - $22 per hour paid bi-weekly.
