2. About the Opportunity:
The Global Commodity Manager - PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly) is responsible for leading execution across core product areas, including satellite and terrestrial networks, developer platforms, applications, and partner solutions. This role drives clarity and momentum among engineering, design, and customer teams by owning the strategic direction and detailed planning of product developments. The position contributes to translating strategic goals into actionable product plans, directly impacting the organization's ability to deliver on its connectivity solutions.
3. Responsibilities:
Lead strategic sourcing and supply chain management for PCB/A, FPGA, and related electronic interconnect technologies.
Manage a diverse portfolio of PCBAs involving over 30 suppliers and budgets exceeding $5 million.
Develop and implement supplier strategies, including technology evaluations, qualifications, commercial negotiations, and relationship management.
Collaborate with hardware engineering to influence PCB stack-up designs, material choices, and component selections to improve manufacturability and supply chain stability.
Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation plans across multi-program hardware portfolios.
Communicate sourcing strategies, supplier performance, and program updates to technical and business stakeholders.
Assess manufacturing technologies, materials, and supplier capabilities to inform sourcing and support design-for-manufacturability standards.
Drive supplier qualifications and maintain supplier performance standards.
Travel as required, up to 25% of the time.
4. Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or commodity management with a focus on PCB/A, FPGA, or electronic interconnect technologies.
Proven ability to manage complex supplier portfolios and substantial budgets.
Expertise in supplier strategy development, negotiation, and relationship building.
Strong collaboration skills with engineering teams to optimize product design for manufacturability.
Risk identification and mitigation experience in hardware supply chains.
Excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
Willingness to travel up to 25%.
Strongly Desired:
Background in hardware engineering or manufacturing process engineering.
Experience with AI-powered spend analytics and generative AI tools for cost modeling and supplier management.
Familiarity with PCB manufacturing processes and space-rated component sourcing.
5. Pay Range and Compensation Package:
Salary range: $128,000 to $165,000, commensurate with experience.
