Associate Attorney – Civil Litigation (Maryland/DC)

A well-established Mid-Atlantic litigation firm is seeking multiple attorneys to join its growing Maryland/DC litigation practice.
This is a fully remote opportunity for an attorney licensed in Maryland, with DC admission preferred (Delaware admission is a plus). While the role is remote, the attorney will work closely with an established team based out of the firm's Fairfax, VA and Richmond, VA offices, with full administrative support and regular collaboration.
The position offers meaningful litigation responsibility, direct mentorship from experienced trial attorneys, and a clear long-term growth path within one of the region's most respected litigation firms.

Sports & Entertainment Litigation

Premises Liability
Commercial & Contract Litigation

Tort Litigation
We are moving efficiently and can typically take candidates from first conversation to decision within approximately two weeks.
Responsibilities
Manage an active litigation docket from inception through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses
Take and defend depositions
Participate in mediations, hearings, and trial preparation
Appear in Maryland and DC State and Federal Courts
Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and insurance professionals
Develop litigation strategy alongside experienced partners and trial attorneys
Handle increasing levels of responsibility as experience grows
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active Maryland Bar license required
DC Bar admission preferred
Delaware Bar admission is a plus
Ideally 3+ years of litigation experience
Trial experience strongly preferred
Insurance defense experience preferred but not required
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
Experience drafting motions and handling discovery
Deposition experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
