Commodity Trader

DACK Trading is a boutique physical commodity trading company founded in 2018 and headquartered in New York. We operate a back-to-back trading model across 60+ global markets, connecting origin suppliers with buyers in grains, pulses, animal feed, dairy, sugar, nuts, and frozen protein.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced Commodity Trader to originate, structure, and close physical trades in grains, feed, rice, sugar, and dried fruits and nuts. You'll own the full trade cycle from sourcing and pricing to contract execution, working closely with our operations team.
What You'll Do
Originate and close physical trades with suppliers and buyers worldwide
Build and grow a book of business across different commodities.
Negotiate pricing, Incoterms, payment terms, and quality specifications
Develop and maintain relationships with producers, mills, processors, importers, and distributors
Monitor market fundamentals, freight, and pricing trends to identify opportunities
Coordinate with operations on logistics, documentation, letters of credit, and trade finance
Manage counterparty risk in line with company credit and insurance policies
What We're Looking For
5+ years of physical commodity trading experience in one of: grains, feed, rice, sugar, dried fruits or nuts
An established network of suppliers and/or buyers in the US and international markets
Strong understanding of Incoterms, containerized and bulk shipping, and trade documentation
Working knowledge of LCs, CAD, and trade credit insurance
Proven ability to originate and close deals independently
Excellent negotiation and communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Business, Agribusiness, Economics, or related field preferred
English or other languages a plus
