We’re Hiring: Freelance Civil Engineer / Civil 3D Designer
Remote | Project-Based Contract
San Mina Engineering is seeking an experienced freelance Civil Engineer or Civil 3D Designer to support projects on an as-needed, project-by-project basis.
Responsibilities may include:
• Preparing grading and drainage plans
• Developing existing and proposed Civil 3D surfaces
• Creating contours, profiles, cross-sections, and earthwork calculations
• Preparing hydrology and hydraulic calculations
• Designing storm-drain systems and drainage improvements
• Preparing drainage exhibits, erosion-control plans, and BMP details
• Assisting with California WQMP and LID reports
• Revising plans in response to agency plan-check comments
• Coordinating drawings with architectural, structural, survey, and geotechnical documents
• Delivering organized PDF, DWG, and Civil 3D source files
Preferred qualifications:
• Civil engineering or related technical background
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D skills
• Demonstrated grading, drainage, and land-development experience
• Familiarity with residential and commercial projects
• Knowledge of Southern California requirements is strongly preferred
• Experience with WQMP, LID, BMP sizing, drainage-area mapping, and hydrology reports is highly desirable
• Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and meet agreed deadlines
• California PE license is a plus but is not required for drafting support
This is a remote, project-based opportunity open to qualified professionals in the United States and Mexico. Candidates outside California must demonstrate experience supporting U.S. civil-engineering projects.
