Senior Software Engineer

Role Description The Senior Software Engineer will design, build, and maintain the core platforms that deliver Otto’s AI systems to subscribers, ensuring reliability, scalability, and a high-quality user experience. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing back-end services and APIs, integrating AI models, optimizing performance, and collaborating with product and content teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions. The role also involves reviewing code, mentoring other engineers, maintaining high engineering standards, and contributing to architectural decisions. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Barranquilla, requiring close collaboration with cross-functional partners and active participation in team discussions and planning.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture concepts.
Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, building APIs, microservices, and server-side applications.
Proven track record in Software Development, including designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining production systems.
Advanced Programming skills in one or more modern languages (e.g., Python, Java, TypeScript/Node.js, Go) and familiarity with software tooling and frameworks.
Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to apply them to design clean, maintainable, and extensible code.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure), databases (SQL and NoSQL), and CI/CD pipelines.
Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environment, communicate clearly, and provide technical leadership and mentorship.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience integrating AI/ML systems or working with LLM-based products is a plus.
