House of Happiness is a Hyderabad-based chocolates and gifting business offering imported chocolates, customised gift hampers, and gift-packing services for special occasions.
Our dedicated cake brand, HOH Cakes, creates custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, engagements, anniversaries, and other celebrations. We are developing our wedding-cake offering, with an emphasis on thoughtful design, consistent flavour, and careful finishing.
Together, House of Happiness and HOH Cakes help customers bring gifting and celebrations to life through personalised products and attention to detail.
Role Description
We are looking for a Cake Artist / Pastry Chef to join HOH Cakes in a full-time, on-site role in Hyderabad. The role focuses on baking, assembling, and decorating custom celebration cakes, with particular emphasis on wedding cakes.
We are seeking someone who can translate customer references into achievable cake designs, maintain consistent quality, and organise production to meet order deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare cake sponges, fillings, frostings, and other components with consistent taste and quality.
• Assemble, fill, coat, and decorate cakes according to confirmed customer requirements.
• Create neat finishes using buttercream, whipped cream, ganache, and fondant, as required by the design.
• Accompany wedding cake deliveries to the venue and take responsibility for on-site assembly, positioning, final decoration, and touch-ups, ensuring the cake is securely arranged and ready for presentation at the agreed time.
• Plan and construct tiered cakes with suitable supports and careful attention to stability.
• Coordinate cake designs, portions, flavours, and production timelines with the business owner.
• Plan ingredient requirements, monitor stock, and minimise wastage.
• Maintain clean equipment, organised workstations, and appropriate food storage and hygiene practices.
• Prepare cakes for safe packing and transport, supporting wedding-cake setup where required.
• Contribute ideas for new flavours, designs, and seasonal cake collections.
Skills and Experience
• Practical experience in custom cake baking and decorating.
• A portfolio showing cakes you have personally made and decorated.
• Strong finishing skills and attention to colour, proportion, and detail.
• Experience with wedding and multi-tier cakes is preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple orders and meet agreed deadlines.
• Knowledge of food hygiene, ingredient storage, and allergen awareness.
• Clear communication and the ability to work responsibly within a small team.
• Formal bakery or pastry training is an advantage; practical skills and work quality are highly valued.
