Role Description This is a part-time remote role for an Accountant at BTail Holdings. The Accountant will manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording transactions, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and maintaining the general ledger. The role includes preparing and reviewing financial statements, assisting with month-end and quarter-end closing activities, and ensuring accurate documentation of financial records. The Accountant will monitor accounts payable and receivable, support cash flow tracking, and help maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The position also involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide financial reports, respond to inquiries, and suggest process improvements for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
Strong skills in general accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and financial statement preparation.
Experience with bookkeeping and accounting software (such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms) and proficiency with spreadsheets.
Knowledge of basic tax principles, regulatory compliance, and standard accounting practices (GAAP or equivalent).
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
Solid organizational and time-management abilities to handle part-time hours while meeting deadlines in a remote environment.
Clear written and verbal communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate professional integrity.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.
Prior experience in a remote or distributed work setting is beneficial.
