Core Job Functions1. Guest Reception & Customer Service
Greet and welcome guests warmly.
Introduce guests to their server and answer questions.
Handle guest complaints professionally.
2. Seating & Flow Management
Manage seating charts and strategically seat guests to balance server workload.
Monitor table status and coordinate turnover.
Maintain an organized waitlist and quote accurate wait times.
3. Reservation & Communication Duties
Manage reservations and phone inquiries.
Use reservation/waitlist software to track guest flow.
Communicate with kitchen and serving staff to coordinate service pace.
4. Front‑of‑House Maintenance
Keep the entrance, host stand, and dining area tidy.
Prepare menus and ensure they are clean and stocked.
