Financial Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Financial Analyst based in India.
This role supports project teams across the full financial life cycle of clinical trials, helping ensure that project performance, revenue, budgets, and contracts are accurately monitored. You’ll contribute to monthly invoicing, revenue recognition, forecasting, variance analysis, and project financial reporting. The position also works closely with accounting and operational finance teams to support accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities. You’ll help identify scope changes and out-of-scope activities by comparing budgets, work orders, and actual project performance. The role offers exposure to project finance within a complex, data-driven clinical research environment. Success requires strong accounting fundamentals, analytical thinking, organization, and the ability to collaborate across teams.
Accountabilities
Support operational project teams with financial activities throughout the life cycle of clinical trials, providing accurate and timely financial guidance and analysis.
Assist with the preparation of monthly invoicing worksheets used for client invoicing and revenue recognition.
Perform and support variance analysis by comparing forecasted revenue with actual results, identifying financial gaps, changes in scope, and other project developments.
Review work orders and change-order budgets against actual project activities to help identify potential out-of-scope work.
Support monthly project review meetings and provide relevant financial information and analysis as needed.
Assist operational finance leadership with the preparation and review of contract documentation, including statements of work and change orders.
Partner with accounting colleagues to support financial reporting, general ledger activities, and the accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
Support the timely preparation and reporting of monthly financial information.
Respond to financial inquiries, special reporting requests, and ad hoc project analyses from senior finance leadership.
Collaborate with broader Finance teams to support departmental goals, improve workflows, and strengthen internal controls.
Assist with the development and implementation of new procedures, processes, and system features designed to improve efficiency and financial controls.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in an accounting discipline.
At least 2 years of experience in general ledger and financial reporting, with a solid understanding of the accounting cycle.
Experience with project budgets, financial project management support, Earned Value Analysis (EVA), contract review, or equivalent relevant competencies.
Working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger processes, and bank reconciliations.
Strong accounting and financial analysis skills, with the ability to interpret project financial performance and identify variances or emerging issues.
Strong Excel and PC skills, with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of project life cycles and how financial performance and contract status can influence different stages of a clinical trial.
CRO or clinical research industry experience is preferred.
Fluency in English is required, along with the local language where applicable.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities, with close attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across an organization.
Self-motivated and able to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple assignments involving different stakeholders and priorities.
Fast learner with a strong commitment to delivering high-quality work and supporting broader team objectives.
