Job Description:
Position Summary
Nextracker is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and hands-on Supply Chain Sustainability Intern to support the execution of sustainability programs across our global supply chain. This role will provide practical experience in sustainability data management, supplier engagement, responsible procurement, reporting, and cross-functional project coordination.
The intern will work closely with the Supply Chain Sustainability team and internal stakeholders to collect and organize supplier-related information, support data quality and documentation, coordinate supplier trainings and engagement activities, and track follow-ups and action items. The successful candidate should be eager to learn, comfortable working with data and routine operational tasks, and willing to take ownership of both large and small assignments.
Key Responsibilities
Collect, consolidate, organize, and maintain sustainability and supply chain-related data from internal teams and external suppliers.
Support data quality checks by reviewing information for completeness, consistency, accuracy, and potential gaps.
Maintain clear documentation, file structures, trackers, and version control to support reliable and traceable records.
Assist with data analysis, benchmarking, scorecards, dashboards, presentations, and management reports.
Support supplier sustainability programs, including responsible procurement, supplier ESG assessments, responsible minerals due diligence, supplier performance tracking, and corrective action follow-up.
Coordinate logistics and communications for supplier sustainability trainings, webinars, meetings, and other engagement activities.
Prepare invitations, agendas, attendance records, training materials, meeting notes, and post-event summaries as needed.
Track supplier participation, responses, follow-ups, deadlines, and open action items; escalate overdue items to the appropriate team member.
Assist with supplier communications, including routine follow-ups, information requests, clarification questions, and responses to supplier inquiries.
Support the preparation and maintenance of sustainability procedures, work instructions, templates, communication materials, and other program documentation.
Collaborate with sourcing, quality, engineering, finance, legal, ESG, and other internal stakeholders to support ongoing sustainability and supply chain initiatives.
Conduct research on sustainability, responsible sourcing, supply chain, regulatory, and industry topics as assigned.
Support translation, proofreading, formatting, and layout updates for internal and external sustainability materials when needed.
Perform ad hoc analysis, administrative work, and operational support as needed—no task is too small.
Key Deliverables
Accurate and up-to-date sustainability data trackers and supporting records.
Supplier participation, response, and follow-up trackers.
Data summaries, scorecards, dashboards, presentations, and reports.
Organized training and engagement records, including invitations, attendance, and action items.
Complete and traceable documentation with appropriate version control.
Timely completion of assigned follow-ups and operational tasks.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in sustainability, environmental science, environmental engineering, supply chain management, business, data analytics, or a related field.
Strong interest in sustainability, responsible sourcing, ESG, supply chain management, or renewable energy.
Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to organizing information and completing tasks.
Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Ability to work with spreadsheets, organize datasets, perform basic data checks, and prepare clear summaries.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese.
Ability to communicate professionally with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Strong sense of responsibility, follow-through, and commitment to meeting deadlines.
Willingness to learn, ask questions, receive feedback, and work collaboratively in a team environment.
Hands-on, flexible, and proactive attitude, with the ability to support both project-based and routine operational work.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous internship, project, or coursework experience in sustainability, ESG, responsible procurement, supplier management, or supply chain operations.
Experience with data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
Experience using Microsoft Forms, SharePoint, Teams, or other collaboration and document management tools.
Familiarity with responsible sourcing topics such as supplier ESG assessments, RBA principles, responsible minerals, human rights, environmental management, or corrective action plans.
Experience working with international teams, suppliers, or cross-functional stakeholders.
