Compensation: $45,000 - $75,000*

Job Overview
MADE Hoops is seeking a passionate and driven individual, with experience in basketball event management, event sales operations, and customer relations/engagement. The Manager, West Coast Sales is responsible for driving both event revenue and the successful planning, coordination, and execution of MADE Hoops events from initial sales outreach and scheduling through event completion. This role owns a meaningful sales portfolio for West Coast events, including prospecting, relationship development, pipeline management, closing, renewals, and achievement of assigned revenue and registration goals. The Manager also serves as the operational bridge between Event Sales, Operations, Marketing, Registration, Scouting, and Customer Experience to ensure every event is commercially successful and delivered at the highest standard.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for basketball, exceptional sales skills, strong communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Growth
Own sales and revenue performance for assigned West Coast events, with accountability for meeting or exceeding established sales, registration, and revenue targets.
Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline of teams, programs, coaches, partners, and other prospective customers through proactive outreach and relationship development.
Lead the sales process from prospecting and qualification through proposal, follow-up, negotiation, closing, and renewal.
Develop and execute event-specific sales plans designed to maximize registrations, team participation, partnerships, and overall event revenue.
Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline stages, forecasts, next steps, and sales activity, and provide regular revenue updates to leadership.
Partner with Marketing and Registration on targeted campaigns, lead follow-up, conversion strategies, and initiatives to fill events.
Strengthen relationships with existing customers to drive repeat participation, referrals, upsell opportunities, and long-term account growth.
Represent MADE Hoops at events, meetings, and industry touchpoints to develop new business and expand the organization’s presence on the West Coast.
Event Planning & Execution
Manage the planning and execution of assigned MADE Hoops camps, showcases, tournaments, and league events.
Develop and maintain comprehensive event timelines, checklists, and production schedules.
Coordinate all pre-event logistics to ensure events are delivered on time and within budget.
Lead event readiness meetings with internal departments and external partners.
Serve as the primary event lead during assigned events, ensuring seamless execution and quick resolution of operational issues.
Conduct post-event debriefs and document recommendations for continuous improvement.
Venue & Vendor Management
Coordinate with venue partners regarding contracts, scheduling, facility requirements, and event logistics.
Manage relationships with hotels, equipment vendors, photographers, videographers, medical providers, security, and other event vendors.
Ensure all venue requirements are fulfilled prior to event day.
Oversee event setup and breakdown operations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with the Registration team to monitor registration numbers and participant communications.
Collaborate with Marketing & Creative to ensure promotional assets, signage, event branding, and digital communications are delivered on schedule.
Coordinate with the Scouting department regarding evaluator schedules, game coverage, and player evaluation needs.
Work alongside Customer Experience to provide exceptional service before, during, and after events.
Support the Event Sales team by ensuring operational commitments align with client expectations.
Budget & Resource Management
Assist in developing and managing event budgets.
Track event-related expenses and vendor invoices.
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies while maintaining a premium event experience.
Ensure proper inventory management of event supplies and equipment.
Staffing & Onsite Leadership
Coordinate staffing plans for each event, including interns, contractors, scorekeepers, admissions staff, and volunteers.
Assist in onboarding and training seasonal event staff.
Create staffing schedules and assign onsite responsibilities.
Lead onsite staff meetings and maintain operational accountability throughout each event.
Systems & Reporting
Maintain project timelines and event workflows within Monday.com.
Track event milestones and communicate project updates to leadership.
Develop standardized operating procedures and documentation.
Produce post-event reports including attendance, operational performance, financial summaries, and recommendations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Sports Management, Business, or related field.
Previous experience in event sales.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in the customer service context.
Highly organized with exceptional multitasking capabilities and the ability to manage multiple interactions simultaneously.
Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team.
Aptitude to learn new skills and implement strategies.
Comfortable and able to thrive in a high-energy, fast paced environment.
Ability to perform some manual labor for event set up and break down.
Ability and willingness to travel as needed.
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
Preferred Skills & Attributes
Experience or knowledge of youth, AAU, middle school, high school, and college athletics.
3+ years of event operations or event sales experience.
Genuine passion for basketball and a basic understanding of grassroots basketball (specifically pertaining to MADE’s role in basketball).
Prior sales or other equivalent experience that requires exceptional customer service.
Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management, staff, and guests in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
Proficient in all Google Drive applications, including but not limited to Google Sheets and other Google applications.
