Senior AS400 Developer with 3-5 years of exp in COBOL CL, SQL, ALDON, File Management

We are looking for an AS/400 Developer with 3–5 years of hands-on development experience on the IBM AS/400 platform. The candidate will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining AS/400 applications based on business requirements. The role involves coding, debugging, testing, defect resolution, and implementation activities while working closely with functional, QA, and development teams throughout the SDLC.
The candidate will work with COBOL/COBOL 400, CL/CLLE, SQL, DB2, AS/400 Physical Files (PF), Logical Files (LF), and File Management. The role also requires experience with ALDON for source code management and application deployment.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain AS/400 applications based on business requirements.
Develop and debug programs using COBOL/COBOL 400 and CL/CLLE.
Write and optimize SQL queries and work with DB2.
Work with AS/400 Physical Files (PF), Logical Files (LF), and File Management.
Perform coding, unit testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
Use ALDON for source code management and application deployment.
Analyze technical requirements and prepare technical and design documentation.
Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.
Collaborate with functional, QA, and development teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Must-Have Skills
3–5 years of hands-on AS/400 / IBM i development experience.
Strong hands-on experience with COBOL/COBOL 400, CL/CLLE, and SQL.
Experience working with ALDON for source code management and application deployment.
Good knowledge of AS/400 File Management, Physical Files (PF), Logical Files (LF), and DB2.
Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Good-to-Have Skills
Experience participating in code reviews and following development standards.
Experience preparing technical and design documentation.
Experience collaborating with functional, QA, and development teams throughout the SDLC.
