Data & Analytics Enablement Lead

The role and its impact
Xero's G&A Data & Analytics team makes trusted data usable for the teams that keep Xero running, including Finance, HR, Legal, and Workplace. As a Data & Analytics Enablement Lead (Self-Service Enablement Lead), you will own how those teams find, understand and act on data for themselves. You will set the enablement roadmap, define the guardrails that make self service safe, and design the ways of working that let a G&A team answer its own question rather than joining a queue. This covers everything from approved data sources and certified dashboards through to agreed metric definitions and the practical patterns people follow day to day.
Your impact shows up in adoption and confidence. You will partner with senior leaders across Finance and HR to embed data into planning cycles, performance conversations and decision forums, and you will influence the central Data, BI and Governance teams so that G&A needs shape what gets built. Alongside that sits a real capability agenda: lifting data and AI literacy across the function and making responsible data use something people understand and practise, not a policy they skim. You will Go Further by building capability that outlasts any single dashboard, and Go Bold in rethinking how a fast growing organisation uses its own information.
The team and how they connect
G&A Data & Analytics is a small, senior team with a broad remit across Xero's corporate functions. You will work alongside analysts, data engineers and business stakeholders, and connect closely with central Data, BI and Governance on platform capability, semantic layer design and rollout. The team Goes Together by working in the open, sharing patterns and reusable content so that a good idea lifts the whole data community rather than one function.
The team is currently working on
- Our stack: SQL based querying across cloud data warehouses, dbt for transformation, and Tableau alongside other BI platforms for reporting and dashboards.
- Defining the G&A data enablement roadmap, including approved data sources, certified dashboards, metric definitions and naming conventions.
- Designing role based enablement programmes and learning pathways for Finance, PX and leadership audiences.
- Building exemplar analytics experiences such as G&A scorecards and performance dashboards, and maturing how AI is used responsibly in analytics.
Where and how you can work
This role is based in either Auckland, Melbourne, or Sydney, working in a hybrid model that combines in office collaboration with the flexibility to work from home. Our boost days bring the team together in person for connection and collaborative work, with the rest of the week flexible to suit how you work best.
Here are some of the things we are looking for
- You will bring a track record of designing and running enablement or change programmes that measurably shifted how business teams use data.
- Influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority comes naturally to you, ideally across Finance, People or other corporate functions.
- Your background covers modern analytics stacks, including SQL, cloud data warehouses, transformation tools such as dbt, and BI platforms such as Tableau.
- Translating complex data concepts into clear, practical guidance for different audiences is a strength you enjoy using.
- Defining and tracking adoption, usage and outcome metrics is familiar territory, and you use what they tell you to iterate.
- You will Go Together by mentoring analysts and business users, lifting capability across the community rather than holding the knowledge yourself.
