Role Description The Solar Engineer will work full time in a remote capacity, supporting the design, analysis, and optimization of solar power systems for a range of commercial, industrial, and utility-scale projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing PV system layouts, performing electrical design calculations, preparing technical drawings and documentation, and conducting performance and feasibility analyses. The role involves reviewing site data, coordinating with project managers, clients, and external partners, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and local regulations. The Solar Engineer will also assist with proposal development, cost estimates, and technical support during installation and commissioning. Continuous monitoring of industry trends and emerging technologies is expected to help improve system performance and engineering practices.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong knowledge of the solar industry, including solar power generation principles and current market practices.
Candidates should possess skills in solar systems engineering, including system configuration, component selection, and performance analysis.
Candidates should possess PV design skills, including layout optimization, shading analysis, and energy yield assessment.
Candidates should possess electrical design skills, including circuit design, single-line diagrams, protection schemes, and compliance with electrical codes.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related field; advanced degree or professional certifications in solar or PV engineering are a plus.
Proficiency with PV design and simulation software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar) and CAD tools for technical drawings.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, collaborate across time zones, and communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
Experience with international standards and local regulations related to solar installations in Taiwan or similar markets is advantageous.
