Research Intern

I’m looking for several Research Interns to work with me on Space Industry for a three-month internship.
Duration: 1 October – 31 December 2026
Commitment: Very flexible
Compensation: US$40/hour

Space Industry is building a structured map of the global space ecosystem — companies, startups, government agencies, technologies, programs, people, and the relationships connecting them.
The first stage is the Industry Graph.
This internship will explore how advanced AI can be used to research, organize, verify, and map the space industry at scale.
We are in the AI era. I am not looking for interns to spend hours doing repetitive manual research that AI can already perform.
The human contribution should be different: critical thinking, judgment, creativity, verification, and asking the right questions.
Most participation will happen through short, focused 15-minute discussions held occasionally throughout the three-month period. These conversations will focus on important research questions, how information should be structured, gaps discovered by AI, and ideas for improving the Industry Graph.
The objective is not to maximize hours.
It is to make a small amount of human time exceptionally useful.
I’m looking for students from backgrounds in engineering, natural sciences, computer science, data science, AI, or closely related disciplines, particularly those with a genuine interest in space.
No extensive professional experience is required.
Curiosity, independent thinking, ambition, and the ability to work intelligently with AI matter much more.
Interns will be compensated at US$40 per hour for eligible internship time, with payment issued once at least one cumulative hour of paid participation has been completed.
A Letter of Recommendation will also be provided to interns who successfully complete the three-month program.
