Company Description High School Journal for Academic Research is a student-led publication focused on showcasing original academic work by high school researchers across diverse disciplines. The journal provides an accessible platform for young scholars to develop their research, writing, and critical thinking skills. Working with a collaborative, education-focused team, contributors and staff help promote academic curiosity and peer learning. The journal operates primarily online, making it easy for students and readers from different locations to engage with and share high-quality research content.
Role Description The Social Media Manager is a full-time, remote role responsible for planning, creating, and publishing content across the journal’s social media channels. This role oversees day-to-day social media activities, including drafting posts, scheduling content, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner. The Social Media Manager will develop and refine social media campaigns to increase visibility of student articles, calls for submissions, and academic events. They will collaborate with editors and student contributors to translate journal content into engaging posts, stories, and threads tailored to each platform. The role also includes tracking performance metrics, optimizing strategies based on analytics, and maintaining a consistent, inclusive brand voice that supports the journal’s educational mission.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO) to plan campaigns, grow followers, and increase engagement.
Candidates should possess strong Communication and Writing skills to create clear, compelling, and age-appropriate content for diverse audiences.
Candidates should possess Content Strategy skills to organize editorial calendars, align posts with journal priorities, and support long-term growth.
Ability to use social media management and analytics tools (e.g., scheduling platforms, platform insights) to monitor performance and refine tactics.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines in a remote environment.
Interest in education, academic research, or youth-led initiatives; prior experience working with student-led organizations is beneficial.
Comfort collaborating with a distributed team, openness to feedback, and commitment to maintaining a respectful, inclusive online presence.
