Vice President, Capital Markets
Position Overview
The Vice President, Capital Markets is responsible for the overall strategic planning, business development, financing solutions, investor and institutional client relationship management, and execution of capital market projects for the company.
This role encompasses core functions such as capital market strategy, equity and debt financing, capital structure optimization, institutional client development, investor relations, transaction execution, market analysis, and strategic partnership management.
The Vice President, Capital Markets is required to formulate and drive business development strategies by integrating macroeconomic factors, capital market conditions, industry trends, and corporate strategic goals. Responsibilities include expanding high-value institutional client, investor, and financial institution partnerships; driving the successful execution of financing and capital market transactions; and continuously enhancing the company's financing capabilities, market influence, and long-term capital value.
Key Responsibilities
1. Capital Market Strategy and Business Management
Formulate and implement the company's medium- to long-term capital market strategy and business development plans;
Establish and continuously optimize the management system, transaction workflows, and operational standards for capital market activities;
Develop business plans and execution strategies for key projects aligned with corporate strategic goals;
Analyze trends in domestic and international capital markets, financing environments, and regulatory policy changes;
Design capital market products, financing solutions, and business expansion strategies;
Optimize the organizational structure, client coverage models, and resource allocation for capital market operations;
Oversee key capital market projects to ensure efficient, standardized, and compliant execution.
2. Financing and Capital Market Business Development
Drive business development across equity financing, debt financing, private placements, structured finance, and other capital market-related areas;
Identify opportunities for corporate financing, capital restructuring, refinancing, and strategic capital partnerships;
Develop and maintain relationships with investment banks, securities firms, funds, asset management institutions, private equity funds, venture capital firms, family offices, and other institutional investors;
Build and maintain a network of high-value institutional clients and strategic capital partners;
Design tailored financing and capital market solutions based on client needs;
Participate in the negotiation and execution of major financing projects, capital market transactions, and strategic investments;
Continuously expand the pool of capital sources, institutional clients, and strategic investors. 3. Capital Market Transactions and Project Execution
Manage the end-to-end process of capital market projects, ranging from preliminary market analysis, client sourcing, and solution design to transaction execution and post-transaction management;
Participate in equity financing, bond issuance, private placements, capital restructuring, M&A financing, and other capital market transactions;
Coordinate internal and external teams of professional advisors, including legal, financial, audit, investment banking, and securities experts;
Oversee transaction structuring, analysis of financing terms, valuation analysis, and capital structure planning;
Participate in project due diligence, investor relations, transaction negotiations, and project closing;
Monitor project execution progress, key transaction milestones, and risk factors;
Ensure the successful implementation of major capital market projects in alignment with corporate strategy and transaction objectives.
4. Investor and Institutional Client Relationship Management
Establish and maintain long-term, stable relationships with institutional investors and capital partners;
Manage ongoing communication with key investors, institutional clients, and strategic capital partners;
Analyze investor needs, capital preferences, and market feedback;
Organize investor meetings, roadshows, management interactions, and capital market events;
Refine financing strategies and capital market communication plans based on market feedback;
Maintain long-term partnerships with banks, securities firms, funds, investment institutions, and other financial entities;
Continuously enhance the company's capital market profile, institutional coverage, and the quality of financing channels.
5. Market Research and Capital Structure Management
Continuously research macroeconomic trends, interest rates, exchange rates, credit markets, equity markets, and industry capital flows;
Analyze capital market valuation levels, financing costs, and changes in market liquidity;
Evaluate the costs, risks, and suitability of various financing instruments and capital structure options;
Provide company management with analysis and recommendations regarding capital market trends, the financing environment, and capital structure;
Participate in optimizing the company's capital structure, managing financing costs, and long-term capital planning;
Adjust financing strategies, capital allocation, and transaction timing based on market conditions;
Provide capital market analysis to support major investment, financing, and strategic decisions. 6. Cross-functional Collaboration and Strategic Support
Collaborate closely with finance, strategy, legal, investment, business, and risk management functions, as well as senior management;
Ensure capital market strategies align with the company’s overall strategy, financial objectives, and business development;
Participate in major financing, M&A, investment, and strategic partnership projects;
Establish cooperative relationships with external investment banks, securities firms, law firms, accounting firms, and other professional institutions;
Provide professional support for the expansion into new business areas, new markets, and international capital markets;
Facilitate the effective integration of capital market resources with business development, strategic investments, and long-term growth goals.
7. Risk, Compliance, and Regulatory Management
Identify potential risks associated with capital market transactions, financing activities, investor relations, and partnerships with financial institutions;
Establish mechanisms for risk monitoring, early warning, and management regarding capital market operations;
Ensure capital market activities comply with applicable laws, regulations, securities regulatory requirements, and industry standards;
Strengthen processes for transaction approval, client management, information disclosure, and internal controls;
Standardize procedures for financing, investor communication, and the execution of capital market projects;
Coordinate with internal and external professional bodies to handle regulatory, legal, and transaction compliance matters;
Ensure the sound, sustainable, and compliant development of the company’s capital market operations. Qualifications
15–20+ years of experience in capital markets, investment banking, corporate finance, securities, asset management, investment management, or related fields;
5+ years of experience in senior management roles such as Vice President, Managing Director, or Executive Director;
Proven leadership experience in capital markets operations within investment banks, securities firms, financial institutions, large enterprises, or multinational corporations;
Experience in equity financing, debt financing, private placement, structured finance, M&A financing, or other capital market transactions;
Established network of relationships with institutional investors, financial institutions, investment banks, securities firms, and strategic capital partners;
Experience in domestic and international capital markets and cross-border financing is preferred;
Familiarity with capital market transaction processes, financing instruments, valuation analysis, and capital structure management;
Strong capabilities in capital market strategic planning, business development, transaction execution, and project management;
Excellent financial analysis, business judgment, and decision-making skills regarding complex transactions;
Outstanding leadership, negotiation, investor communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills;
Strong market insight, with the ability to adjust business strategies in response to macroeconomic and capital market changes;
Proficiency in English business communication and international capital market operations is preferred.
