Role Description The AI/ML CTO will lead the end-to-end technical vision and execution for the company’s legal-focused AI products and platforms. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Delhi, India. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining the technical roadmap, architecting systems that integrate AI/ML with legal workflows, and overseeing software development from concept through deployment. The role involves building and mentoring an engineering and data science team, establishing best practices for security, reliability, and compliance, and collaborating closely with product and legal stakeholders to align technology with business goals. The AI/ML CTO will also evaluate emerging technologies, manage technical partnerships, and ensure that the organization’s infrastructure and tooling can scale with rapid growth.

LLM/RAG pipeline experience (retrieval + generation, not just API calls)
Vector databases (Pinecone/Weaviate/Chroma/pgvector) + embeddings
NLP/document processing (parsing messy PDFs, chunking, entity extraction)
Backend/systems design (since this is a full product, not just a model)
Good to have
Knowledge graphs / graph DBs (Neo4j)
Eval pipelines for hallucination/accuracy
Regulated-domain (legal/medical/finance) experience
Qualifications
Strong background in Software Development and Product Development, with experience delivering complex, production-grade AI/ML or data-intensive systems.
Demonstrated expertise in IT Strategy and Architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and resilient platforms for enterprise or B2B products.
Proven Project Management skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and oversee multiple initiatives while coordinating cross-functional teams.
Extensive experience leading technical organizations, preferably as CTO, VP Engineering, or Head of Technology in a startup or high-growth environment.
Hands-on experience with modern AI/ML frameworks, cloud infrastructure, data engineering pipelines, and MLOps practices.
Familiarity with legal technology, compliance requirements, or regulated industries is highly beneficial.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical partners.
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
