Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Engineer – Solar Cell Production with hands-on experience specifically in the solar cell printing line and Thermocluster equipment/process.
The candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day production activities, process monitoring, equipment performance, troubleshooting, yield improvement, and continuous improvement of the printing process. Candidates must have strong practical experience working on the printing line and Thermocluster in a solar cell manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor day-to-day solar cell printing line operations to achieve production, quality, and yield targets.
Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Thermocluster equipment and associated printing-line processes.
Ensure stable and consistent performance of the printing process, including:
Screen printing
Paste application
Print alignment and registration
Print thickness / weight control
Finger and busbar quality
Drying and firing-related process parameters
Thermocluster process parameters
Analyze process and equipment abnormalities and implement corrective actions.
Monitor key process parameters and identify deviations affecting cell efficiency, yield, and quality.
Troubleshoot defects related to printing, paste, screen, alignment, drying, and Thermocluster processes.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Quality, Process Engineering, and Production teams to resolve equipment and process issues.
Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring defects, downtime, and yield losses.
Drive improvements in cell efficiency, yield, throughput, machine availability, and process stability.
Maintain process documentation, production reports, shift reports, and equipment/process parameter records.
Support new equipment commissioning, process qualification, trials, and optimization activities.
Train and guide junior engineers and operators on printing-line operations and troubleshooting.
Ensure adherence to 5S, safety, SOPs, quality standards, and production procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
Required Technical Experience
Mandatory: Hands-on experience in solar cell printing line production.
Mandatory: Practical experience with Thermocluster equipment/process.
Strong understanding of solar cell metallization and printing processes.
Experience in troubleshooting printing-related defects and process abnormalities.
Knowledge of screen printing equipment, screens, squeegees, silver/aluminum pastes, alignment, and print quality parameters.
Understanding of process parameters affecting cell efficiency, fill factor, resistance, contact quality, and yield.
Experience with production data analysis and process optimization.
Exposure to equipment preventive maintenance and coordination with maintenance teams.
Educational Qualification
B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Chemical, Production, Manufacturing, or related engineering discipline.
Relevant experience in solar cell manufacturing will be given preference.
Preferred Candidate Profile
5–10 years of relevant experience in solar cell manufacturing.
Candidates with direct experience in printing line + Thermocluster will be preferred.
Strong hands-on troubleshooting capability.
Good understanding of production KPIs, yield, downtime, OEE, and process control.
Ability to work in a 24×7 shift-based manufacturing environment.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and team-coordination skills.
