About the Role
HMX Media is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Roto Artist. The Roto Artist will be responsible for creating precise masks and mattes, isolating products and other visual elements, and supporting high-quality image and visual content production for global brands.
The role requires a strong understanding of shapes, edges, perspective, lighting, movement, and image quality, along with the ability to work accurately according to client briefs and HMX Media's production standards.
Key Responsibilities
Create accurate rotoscoping masks and mattes for products, people, objects, props, and other visual elements.
Perform precise isolation of objects from backgrounds for further retouching, compositing, replacement, or enhancement.
Create clean and consistent roto shapes while maintaining accurate edges and contours.
Perform frame-by-frame rotoscoping for moving elements wherever required.
Ensure accurate edge treatment, feathering, motion blur, and shape consistency.
Support the production of product, lifestyle, specialty, and other high-end visual content.
Prepare clean mattes and isolated elements.
Assist in product replacement and integration workflows where products need to be realistically placed into existing lifestyle imagery or footage.
Ensure isolated/replaced elements maintain the correct perspective, proportion, position, and visual consistency.
Maintain proper file naming, folder structure, version control, and production documentation.
Perform proper quality checks before submitting completed work for review.
