Key Responsibilities
Prepare nesting layouts and cutting lists based on approved design drawings
Create and update design and production files using nesting/CAD software
Optimise nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and reduce waste
Verify design drawings and dimensions for accuracy before nesting
Coordinate with production teams regarding nesting output and material requirements
Check nesting output for accuracy and adherence to design specifications
Identify and resolve design or nesting discrepancies
Assess design and nesting feasibility and resolve technical or production challenges
Maintain nesting records, cutting lists and material utilisation data
Guide junior design engineers on nesting tools and processes when required
Required Skills
Experience in nesting, CAD design or production engineering
Good knowledge of nesting software and CAD tools
Strong understanding of material optimisation techniques
Knowledge of SolidWorks, Nest and Cut AutoCAD
Working knowledge of sheet metal
Good understanding of production drawings and cutting processes
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good problem-solving and coordination skills
Ability to manage multiple nesting projects simultaneously
Experience in modular furniture / kitchen manufacturing is preferred

Qualification
Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
