Director of Product Engineering - Remote

TGI Sport builds technology that sits inside live sport — from the live broadcast path to the applications through which millions of fans watch.
In this newly created role, you’ll lead the engineering behind our client-facing products across mobile, web and connected TV, alongside our direct-to-consumer and distribution technology.
This is an opportunity to solve a genuine engineering challenge, build a new team in Austin and have real influence over how our technology evolves globally.
Your Mission
Your focus will be making our technology easier, faster and more consistent for partners to integrate. You’ll help move us from bespoke client builds towards scalable, repeatable products and integrations, while continuing to deliver for some of the biggest organisations in sport. You’ll:
Shape our SDK, API and client integration strategy across mobile, web and connected TV.
Lead the engineering behind our direct-to-consumer and distribution products.
Own the technical direction, architecture and engineering standards across the vertical.
Help establish Austin as a key engineering hub, with significant budget to build and shape your own team.
Own the AWS architecture behind your products, balancing reliability, performance and cost.
Work directly with partner engineering teams on integrations and complex technical challenges.
Build relationships with senior technology leaders at major sports organisations.
Partner closely with Product on turning the roadmap into scalable, well-engineered products.
What You’ll Bring
Essential
A strong engineering background with experience leading technical teams.
The ability to explain complex technology simply, whether you’re speaking to an engineer, a client or a CTO.
Strong, current experience with AWS and production systems at scale.
Experience building and operating client-facing technology.
Experience with SDKs, APIs, developer platforms or complex third-party integrations.
The technical credibility to challenge architecture and engineering decisions while knowing when to delegate.
An appetite for building teams and developing engineering capability.
Comfortable working internationally and travelling to meet clients and teams when needed.
Desirable
Experience across mobile, web or connected TV.
Live video, streaming or broadcast technology.
Advertising technology, particularly addressable advertising or server-side ad insertion.
Real-time or low-latency distributed systems.
