Enterprise Systems Engineer- Application Deployment & Infrastructure

We are building a team responsible for deploying, upgrading, and maintaining an enterprise server-based application platform on customer infrastructure. Deployments span on-premise data centres as well as Azure and AWS cloud environments. You will own the full infrastructure lifecycle — from environment preparation and installation to hardening, patching, upgrades, monitoring, and troubleshooting — working directly with client IT teams.
The application platform itself is a leading enterprise geospatial product (ArcGIS Enterprise). No prior experience with it is required — we provide full training and certification support. What we need from you is strong, hands-on IT infrastructure fundamentals.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, validate, and configure server environments (Windows Server) on client on-premise infrastructure and on Azure / AWS.
Install and configure multi-tier enterprise software: web tiers, application servers, and database back-ends across single-machine and distributed/high-availability architectures.
Configure web servers and reverse proxies (IIS, Apache/Tomcat, Nginx), including SSL/TLS certificates, DNS entries, and load balancing.
Plan and execute version upgrades and patch cycles with minimal downtime, including rollback planning, backup, and restore procedures.
Set up relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server/PostgreSQL/Oracle) — installation, connectivity, and backups.
Implement monitoring, log analysis, and alerting; troubleshoot performance, networking, and service-availability issues in production environments.
Work with client firewall/security teams on port configurations, network segmentation, and security hardening per client policies.
Automate repetitive deployment and maintenance tasks using PowerShell, Python etc.
Document architectures, runbooks, and standard operating procedures; maintain configuration records for each client environment.
Mandatory Requirements
2+ years of hands-on experience administering Windows Server and in production environments.
Solid grasp of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, ports and firewalls, reverse proxies, load balancers, VPNs.
Working knowledge of PKI / SSL-TLS certificates — issuing, installing, renewing, and troubleshooting certificate chains.
Experience deploying or managing workloads on Azure or AWS (VMs, virtual networks/VPCs, security groups, storage, IAM).
Experience with enterprise web/application servers (IIS, Tomcat, Apache, or Nginx).
Scripting ability in PowerShell or Python for automation and diagnostics.
Strong troubleshooting methodology — comfortable reading logs, isolating faults across web/app/db/network layers.
Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable working directly with client IT and security teams.
Good To have
Exposure to high-availability or disaster-recovery architectures.
Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation) or configuration management (Ansible/Chef).
Containers (Docker / Kubernetes).
Cloud certifications (AZ-104, AWS SysOps/Solutions Architect) or MCSA/RHCSA.
Any prior exposure to enterprise GIS or mapping platforms.
