Senior Director of Business Platforms
We are looking for a Senior Director of Business Platforms to lead the Business Products tribe within Enterprise Engineering, reporting to the CIO. You will own the operating model that turns a live book of around 200 business jobs-to-be-done into one shipped roadmap, with real line authority over the tribe and its squads. This is a highly visible role, partnering closely with transformation and platform leadership to shape how the wider business delivers change.The tribe is around 30 people today, organised as forward-deployed engineering squads aligned to business functions rather than applications, and the scope is expected to grow.Locations: Cluj, Bucharest, Zagreb or Madrid.
What the role involves
Business Products
Lead and develop the forward-deployed engineering (FDE) squads and their domain managers, with full people accountability for hiring, development, compensation and promotion through standard calibration
Design and staff the squad model around functional persona groupings rather than applications
Operating model
Own the end-to-end operating model: intake, persona grouping, prioritisation and delivery
Define and publish the tribe's headline delivery metric, and hold the tribe to it
Transformation delivery
Own the "how" of transformation delivery, working alongside the Group Transformation lead's "why and what" across business transformation and AI acceleration
Platform interface
Manage platform intake and dependencies against the platform and data roadmaps, negotiating capability by capability as a peer of platform leadership
Vendor operations
Oversee vendor operations within the established procurement process
What we are looking for
Demonstrated ownership of both Workday and Anaplan, either at roadmap or programme level or by leading the teams responsible for implementing, integrating and evolving them, with a clear grasp of how they sit in the wider enterprise landscape. This is an ownership-level requirement rather than user-level familiarity.
Experience building or running an internal platform or FDE organisation at product-company scale, with a strong grasp of reusable capabilities, self-service and SLOs
Technical depth to lead and challenge architecture deep dives, not simply sponsor them
Experience leading leaders: building a management team, developing strong leads and holding them accountable
Strong stakeholder management, partnering with senior transformation leadership across business transformation and AI acceleration
Hands-on experience building and operating agentic or LLM-based automation for a real workflow, and the confidence to walk us through it
Sound judgement, including the ability to make and defend difficult decisions using data
Working knowledge of D365 / Business Central
Particularly interesting to us
A career that began in ERP or COTS, whether SAP, Dynamics, Oracle or similar, and moved on from there into platform, integration, product or transformation ownership. That journey is a strong signal for this role. A career spent in application administration is not.
