Solution Consultant – SaaS | ConstructionTech / PropTech
Location: Gurgaon
Experience: 3–6 years
Industry: ConstructionTech / PropTech / Construction ERP / B2B SaaS preferred
Compensation: ₹4.8–6.0 LPA + Incentives
About Bildwell
Bildwell is a ConstructionTech SaaS platform helping contractors and construction businesses improve project visibility, BOQ management, quantity and material planning, procurement control, execution discipline and project cost visibility.
Bildwell connects commercial, technical, procurement and execution workflows so that construction businesses can move from fragmented spreadsheets and disconnected processes towards structured, data-driven project operations.
The Role
We are looking for a Solution Consultant who combines a strong understanding of construction workflows with the ability to understand customer business problems, translate them into relevant use cases and demonstrate how Bildwell can create measurable business value.
This is a solutioning and consultative pre-sales role, not just a product-demo position.
The candidate should be technically comfortable discussing construction quantities, BOQs, estimation, materials, procurement, contracts, project execution and cost control with contractors, project teams, quantity surveyors, procurement teams and business owners.
The objective is to bridge:
Construction Domain → Business Problem → Technology Solution
The candidate should be capable of understanding not only what a customer wants from the software, but also why a particular construction, quantity or procurement workflow exists and how Bildwell should be applied to that workflow.
Educational & Technical Qualification
Preferred Qualification: M.Tech / M.E. in Civil Engineering, preferably with a specialisation in one of the following:
Construction Engineering & Management
Construction Technology & Management
Quantity Surveying
Contracts & Cost Management
Building Engineering & Management
Infrastructure Engineering / Infrastructure Management
Construction Project Management
Construction Economics
Project Planning & Controls
Estimation and Cost Engineering
Construction Materials and Material Management
Procurement and Contract Management
Candidates with a B.Tech / B.E. in Civil Engineering combined with strong relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimation, Contracts, Procurement, Cost Control or Construction Project Management may also be considered.
The educational requirement is important because the Solution Consultant must be able to understand and discuss technical construction workflows and not operate merely as a generic SaaS salesperson.
Core Domain Knowledge Expected
The candidate should have academic or practical understanding of several of the following:
BOQ preparation and interpretation
Quantity take-off
Measurement and quantity reconciliation
Estimation and costing
Rate analysis
Budget versus actual quantities
Construction specifications
Material requirement planning
BOQ-to-BOM interpretation
Material consumption
Material reconciliation
Procurement planning
Purchase requisitions
RFQs
Vendor quotations
Technical and commercial comparison
Purchase Orders
Goods Receipt / GRN
Material inspection
Vendor management
Contracts and tendering
Project planning
Site execution
Progress measurement
Contractor / subcontractor management
Project cost control
The candidate does not need operational experience across every area, but should have sufficient technical grounding to understand these concepts quickly and hold credible discussions with construction professionals.
Key Responsibilities
Understand customer construction workflows, operational pain points, business requirements and commercial objectives.
Analyse how customers currently manage BOQs, quantities, materials, procurement, project execution, subcontractors, progress and cost control.
Understand BOQ structures, item descriptions, quantities, units of measurement, specifications, material requirements and their relationship with execution.
Understand the relationship between:
BOQ → Quantity → Material Requirement → Procurement → Consumption → Progress → Cost
Develop relevant customer-specific use cases and solution narratives based on actual construction and business requirements.
Conduct customised product demonstrations and simulations using realistic construction projects, BOQs, materials and procurement scenarios.
Configure demo scenarios that reflect the customer's actual operating environment instead of conducting generic feature demonstrations.
Translate Bildwell's product capabilities into clear operational, financial and commercial value propositions.
Demonstrate how better quantity visibility, material planning, procurement and execution control can improve project margins and reduce operational leakage.
Engage with customer teams including founders, CXOs, project heads, quantity surveyors, estimators, procurement teams, commercial teams, project managers and site teams.
Work closely with Sales to qualify opportunities and identify the customer's actual business problem before proposing a solution.
Support Sales in solution design, opportunity qualification, proposals and commercial discussions.
Prepare solution presentations, use cases, demo flows, process diagrams, business scenarios and supporting sales collateral.
Capture customer feedback, requirements, functional gaps and industry-specific requirements in a structured manner.
Translate customer requirements into clear functional requirements for discussion with the Product and Engineering teams.
Identify whether a customer requirement should be addressed through configuration, workflow changes, product functionality or future product development.
Build reusable industry-specific demo scenarios and solution assets for different construction segments.
Develop expertise across contractor categories such as civil contracting, interiors, fit-outs, MEP, design & build, turnkey projects, EPC and other project-based construction businesses.
Ideal Profile
3–6 years of experience in SaaS Pre-Sales, Solution Consulting, Business Analysis, Product Consulting, Construction Technology, Quantity Surveying, Estimation, Procurement, Project Management or related functions.
M.Tech / M.E. in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Construction Engineering & Management, Construction Technology & Management, Quantity Surveying, Contracts & Cost Management or a related discipline is strongly preferred.
Experience in ConstructionTech, PropTech, Construction ERP, Project Management Software or B2B SaaS would be highly valuable.
Strong understanding of construction workflows involving BOQs, quantities, procurement, materials, project execution and cost control.
Ability to read and understand a BOQ and discuss its operational and commercial implications.
Ability to understand construction terminology, quantity logic and procurement workflows without relying entirely on the customer to explain technical concepts.
Strong analytical ability and structured problem-solving approach.
Strong presentation, communication and storytelling skills.
Ability to understand a business problem and convert it into:
Problem → Use Case → Workflow → Solution → Demo → Business Value
Comfortable engaging with founders, CXOs, business heads, project teams, quantity surveyors, procurement professionals and functional teams.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Commercially aware, structured, curious and hands-on.
Comfortable working in a growing product company where solution consulting will also contribute to product discovery and market intelligence.
What This Role Is Not
This is not a scripted product-demo role where the candidate simply walks customers through software screens.
The candidate is expected to understand:
What is the customer's current process?
Where is the operational or commercial problem?
What construction, quantity or procurement logic is involved?
How should Bildwell address that problem?
How should the solution be demonstrated?
What measurable value can the customer derive from it?
Success in the Role
The right candidate should be able to move a customer conversation from:
“Here is what the product does.”
to:
“Here is how your current construction, quantity, material or procurement problem can be solved, how the workflow would operate in your business, and what operational or commercial value it can create.”
Over time, the Solution Consultant should become capable of understanding a customer's construction business sufficiently well to design a relevant Bildwell solution without requiring every workflow to be explained by the Product team.
