Role Description The Cost Accountant role at Paragon Footwear is a full-time, on-site position based in Kottayam. The role involves preparing and analyzing cost reports, monitoring production costs, and supporting pricing decisions to ensure cost efficiency across manufacturing and distribution activities. The Cost Accountant will maintain cost records, review journal entries related to cost and inventory, and reconcile cost data with financial statements. Responsibilities also include collaborating with operations and finance teams to track variances, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support budgeting and forecasting processes. The role requires attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and adherence to company policies and relevant accounting standards.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Cost Accounting and Finance, with the ability to analyze manufacturing and distribution cost structures.
Proficiency in preparing and interpreting Financial Statements to align cost data with overall company performance.
Ability to prepare and review Journal Entries (Accounting) related to cost, inventory, and expense allocation.
Excellent Analytical Skills for variance analysis, budgeting support, and identification of cost optimization opportunities.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CMA, CA, CPA,ICWA) are an advantage.
Experience in manufacturing or footwear/consumer goods industries preferred, with familiarity in standard costing and inventory valuation.
Strong proficiency in MS Excel and accounting/ERP software, along with solid written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on-site in Kottayam, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and maintain high ethical and professional standards.
