About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Shape decisions that matter and consequences that change the story.
At BoomBit, we are looking for a Narrative Designer to join a small team developing new mobile life simulation games built around decisions. Your work will turn scenes, relationships and turning points into playable events: every choice must have a concrete effect on the character's stats, money or relationships.
Generative AI is part of our daily process. You will use it to explore ideas and produce drafts while keeping control over voice, quality and final decisions.
What you will do
• Write events with engaging scenes, differentiated choices and clearly defined mechanical consequences.
• Create compact branching narrative arcs that develop across life stages and relationships.
• Maintain the voice and tone guide within the Product Owner's creative direction.
• Work with systems design to ensure narrative choices are compatible with the game economy.
• Manage an AI-assisted content process: briefs, drafts, selection, validation and publication in the game.
• Edit for clarity, consistency and ease of localization as content grows.
What we're looking for
• 3+ years writing for video games or interactive media, with published and playable work.
• Experience with branching or decision-based narratives.
• Ability to write to a tone guide and mechanical specifications.
• Practical, regular use of generative AI to draft, explore variants and check consistency.
• Fluent English and ability to write publication-quality English.
• Strong interest in life simulation games, visual novels or interactive fiction. Knowledge of game systems, scripting, localization and other languages is a plus.
Your first 90 days
You will help define the voice guide, deliver your first validated events and a content module, and take ownership of the production process against a volume target agreed with the team.
Work arrangement
• Full-time employment or B2B contract.
• Primarily remote, with approximately ±5 hours of CET and around 4 daily hours of overlap with the team.
• Hybrid option from our Gdańsk studio.
• English is the working language and content language.
• Start as soon as you are available.
Selection process
A 30-minute introductory call, a writing test (around 3 hours, one week to complete), a 45-minute interview to discuss your decisions, and a team meeting. The test includes four events and a small branching narrative arc. We expect you to use AI and explain how you retained control of voice and quality.
How to apply
Submit your CV or LinkedIn profile, interactive writing samples if available, and a short paragraph about a decision you wrote that changed players' experience: why did it work? Include whether and how you used AI in your application, in a few words.
